Bluegrass Harmonica, by Mike Stevens - $19.95 + $2.75 S/H (US only)

Book with CD. Softcover 59 pages. This book covers holding the harp, lip pursing, tongue blocking, draw bending, vibrato, attacking the notes, wind chops, and a lot more. Although pointed towards beginner through advanced, I think this method is more suitable for intermediate to advanced players. Written in a unique tab-like format that I've never seen before. The CD features practice tunes for beginning, intermediate and advanced players, including two versions of some of the intermediate and advanced tunes: one at standard tempo, and one slowed down for easier learning.

Fun with the Dulcimer, by Virgil Hughes - $6.99 + $2.75 S/H (US only)

Book. Softcover 32 pages. This is an easy to follow beginning book for dulcimer players. It doesn't do a great job explaining the tuning of the dulcimer, so I would recommend it as an addition to the beginner player's books. Thirty-eight songs are taught with notation and fret numbers for each note. Chord symbols are also included for playing with guitar, banjo, or another chording instrument. Melody playing with drones and basic chord playing are both taught. Lyrics are included with the songs for added fun. I recommend this book!

The American Fiddle Method for Cello Vol. 1 - $24.95 + $2.75 S/H (US only)

Book with CD. Softcover 64 pages. Written as a companion to the wildly popular fiddle book, this method opens up the world of fiddling to the beginning/intermediate cellist. Finally fiddlers, violists and cellists can jam together! Unlike many books for violas and cellos which simply transpose the tunes, the authors went to considerable effort arranging the tunes to be both playable and true to the original melody and key. Variations to the tunes are included illustrating how they can serve as a basis for improvisation. Ensemble skills are taught with chords and lyrics, basic music theory, and demonstrations of such skills as backup and lead playing in this playfully- illustrated book. Standard musical notation. Way cool book for fiddle players who just want to have fun and try out the cello!

Fiddle Tunes for Beginning Cello - $17.95 + $2.75 S/H (US only)

Book with CD. Softcover 39 pages. This book contains a selection of fiddle tunes arranged for the beginning cello player. The idea is to supply a sampling of melodies that will give almost instant gratification to the novice. One of the drawbacks of the classic way of teaching cello is the boredom of some of the early pedagogic repertoire. This book is meant to be an antidote to that tedium. Fiddle tunes are great ways to become accustomed to typical manipulations of major scales and to introduce the sound of arpeggios. The only technical requisite for the music is the ability to play a major scale of some sort. The tunes were chosen for their fun melodic content while demonstrating some typical aspects of fiddling. They are grouped by key with a couple of exceptions and roughly arranged in order of difficulty within each key group. The included split-track CD demonstrates many of the tunes with guitar accompaniment and will help teach the swing phrasing. Standard musical notation with strings/fingerings written below in tab-like notation, and chords for all songs. Recommended!
